January 2012 will likely go down as the 7th warmest January in Minnesota history. With temperatures this month running a full 5 to 9 degrees above average, our beloved Ogilvie Raceway just couldn't withstand the pressure. We looked at many options such as running under the lights when the ice would be harder, to perhaps reducing the number of races or laps per race. No matter how we approached it, one question always came up. Would the track remain safe for our racers. We simply could not be comfortable saying the ice would withstand our abuse and be safe for our racers.
