Team Bio:
In 2005, Gary Moyle made history, becoming the first racer from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to win the World Championship title in Eagle River, Wisconsin. In 2007, history was repeated when Gary took home his second World Championship title.
Moyle Racing began in 1995 when Gary and his older brother Jeff started racing on the snow cross track. From there, they discovered ice oval racing. The brothers dominated the Junior Oval Class and were named “Family of the Year.” The following race season, youngest brother Andy joined Gary and Jeff. Andy took the Eagle River World Championship and High Points win for his class!
By 1998, the three brothers had worked their way up to the Pro classes. At a premier event in Beausejour, Canada, Gary did very well in the heat races. It wasn’t until he tangled up with legendary Jacques Villeneuve that he crashed into the hay bales resulting in a broken foot. Both Jeff & Andy continued and finished the season with much success. In 1999, the Moyle Racing team welcomed Mike Hill as their chief fabricator. Mike showed strong expertise in building spare parts for the machines that were mangled
. Over the next couple years, Gary & Jeff both ran Wahl chassis with Rugland 440’s. This was a time of many experiments with some that worked, most that didn’t, but it was all worth it! It was a turning point in 2003 when Gary bought a Hooper replica from George Samson. During the 2003-2004 season, Gary placed 2nd in the Pro-Open Class in Eagle River, Wisconsin. From there, Gary went on to dominate the Open Class and took a 2nd in the Champ Class in Roseau, Minnesota. Later in Beausejour, Canada, Gary and Terry Wahl duked it out in the 15-lap feature with Gary finishing 2nd, merely two feet behind Terry.
The high points in Gary’s racing career came in 2005 and 2007, when he won the World Championships in Eagle River, Wisconsin. Another high point came in 2007 when Gary took home the Canadian Power Toboggan Championship title in Beausejour, Manitoba, Canada, only to maintain this title with a repeat win in 2008!
Moyle Racing always strives to be the best. As a team, they provide professional, thrilling, and competitive racing. Hard work and dedication to the sport has made Moyle Racing the team to beat.
